How do I prepare for Examination for Discovery?

If you are involved in a personal injury lawsuit in Ontario, you will probably have an examination for discovery. An examination for discovery is when the lawyer for the insurance company asks you questions. For the most part, the questions are about:
  • Your background;
  • The accident;
  • Your pre-accident health;
  • Your injuries;
  • Your employment / loss of income; and
  • Any losses you have suffered around housekeeping.

In this video, Ottawa personal injury lawyer Brenda Hollingsworth explains to young lawyers how she prepares for discovery.
